HiroshimaThe U.S was just beginning to develop atomic weapons but by the time that the U.S completed their first successful test they couldn't use the weapons because Germany has already been defeated. The President at the time Harry S, Truman was not happy with this and soon realized that the war with Japan in the Pacific was still raging on, so he decided to bomb Japan to end the war quicker. On August 6, 1945, the American bomber Enola Gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. A blast equivalent to the power of 15,000 tons of TNT reduced four square miles of the city to ruins and immediately killed 80,000 people.

Los Alamos
Los Alamos was a place where scientists were placed in nice living conditions with much to do but they spent most of their time in laboratories learning and perfecting the way to create "The little boy" and "Fat Man" atomic bombs. They were placed in secret, Los Alamos was not on any map and those who were invited to come were not allowed to tell anyone where they were going. One after another more and more scientist showed up to perfect the atomic bomb. All those living there had the same PO box number 1663, and by the end of the war there were 5,000 people assigned to P.O box 1663. The two atomic bombs took 5,000 people to accomplish, but in the end they accomplished it.
